General Roleplaying Rules
1. Proper grammar and spelling is a must. All posts that are not well-written will be deleted.
2. Specifically state the setting of the rp in the original post. Which means Hosts must give a definitive description of the starting area of the RP.
3. Posts must have something to do with the actual RP.
4. No more than one character is to be controlled within any given post with a max of 2 main characters per thread.
5. You may not control another character without their express permission for any reason.
6. A main character cannot be killed unless they allow it.
7. No godding. You are NOT all powerful.
8. While flaming in character is allowed, there are certain restrictions.
- Flaming cannot be discriminatory towards any real-world race, religion, philosophy, gender, or sexual preference
- All flaming must be done in character - Make sure that they are characters who are attacking each other in the rp - Not members of the forum insulting other members.
9. Profanity is allowed, but there are restrictions to keep it artful.
- The member that posts the thread must get permission from a moderator and include reasoning for the profanity to be allowed.
- The member that posts the thread must indicate that there is to be profanity in the thread in the subject line.
- The member that posts the thread must state that they wish for profanity to be allowed in that thread, and any restrictions that they wish to impose must be followed.
- Any profanity with a sexual meaning must be used in a general context, never in a sexual one (e. g., a character can call another character a dickhead, but cannot use the profanity to tauntingly tell an opponent to "suck dick").
10. Read all announcements and stickies before posting and check often for updates. They are there to help you become a better RP-er.
11. Write your posts in 3rd person only and in past tense.
Dueling Rules
Note: Duels are not suggested for beginning forum Roleplayers.
These are the basic guidlines that should be followed for any duel. Not set in stone, but a decent guide to make for a better duel:
1. In you first post state:
- Where duel takes place
- When the duel takes place
- Whether Magic is permitted
- Who you are challenging
- Your character and possibly a brief bio
2. Always remember that you cannot directly influence another character, therefor you cannot kill a character unless you put them into a situation they cannot avoid.
3. You are not all powerful!
4. Other members should not post in Duel because they are private and do not need spectators. Watching them progress can be interesting, but please do not comment without good reason.
Punishments
1. The most common punishment will be a verbal warning. If you do not shape up after receiving this warning you will receive either a permanent or temporary ban from the forum.
2. Your posts may occasionally be deleted. You will be PMed asking you to rewrite it.
3. If after receiving a ban from the roleplay forum you continue posting you will receive an official warning.
4. If a member of an active roleplay has not posted anything within 48 hours (2 days), which ever member is next in posting will be able to post them, causing the late member to skip their turn.
5. If a member of an active roleplay has not posted anything within 2 weeks, the active members of the roleplay have authority to get rid of the late character within the story however they deem necessary.
Roleplaying Board Rules
1. If you would like to start a new RP of your own, post a brief story description in the RP Ideas Board.
2. If the RP has been evaluated by any of the moderating staff, then you may discuss it in the Roleplaying General Board.
3. Limit one thread per RP topic in the Roleplaying General Board - There is no reason why they should be split into multiple threads.
4. Characters must be evaluated by me in the Character Evaluation Board.
5. Once the character is approved, it can be used for the RP that it was designed to be used in.
