So I have only heard rumors from my friends about the new PS4 that's supposed to come out soon. Other than that, I know almost nothing about it.
Can anyone fill me in on it?

1 - It lets you live stream games right from the system, so friends can watch while you're playing, and comment on it. Awesome
2 - It uses a much more PC like architecture, so it'll be MUCH easier to develop on than the PS3's core architecture was.
3 - Free online is back
4 - 8GB of ram, compared to the PS3, which had like.... 512 MB? So MUCH smoother performance, and bigger games.
5 - Lots of exclusives, and some new games for the big PS franchises, like Infamous, and Killzone
6 - The PS4 controller has a screen on the front, and a touchpad on the back.
That's all i can think of at the moment.

The triggers also look to be a lot better as well. Hated that about the PS3, you'd put down the controller and it almost always presses L2/R2

Free Online is good, as long as its a bit updated.Streaming I always wanted to get into (Twitch, etc) so hearing the PS4 has it is pretty sweet.
Waiting for a price though. Heard its around 7oo bucks, but all just speculation as of now.

Glad I could help! And yeah, Josh, I hated that about the PS3 controller too... Plus to me, the triggers just feel kinda jankity.... lol
And as for the price, I'm like 90% positive that they'll do two models at least with the PS4 at launch. I heard a rumor of a $450, and $550 model, but I've no idea. If they launch at $700, that's even worse than the PS3's $600 launch. They'd best be careful, especially with the components they're packing, like an AMD branded APU. Basically, a processor with a built in graphics solution. Good, but cheap. Xbox is doing the same thing.
The good thing about this, is it's almost identical to a PC structure, so it should be cheaper, and WILL be much easier to develop on, as stated in my original post.
So if anything, this should mean better consoles, at a more affordable price... If they don't get too greedy.

Yeah, $700 for the PS4 would bury Sony in the dirt. Considering the brick known as the PS Vita isn't exactly doing them any favours LOL

I read that some people were being interviewed around the press conference. And that it will be priced around $350. As unbelievable as that sounds. Ive heard a few people cliam the same theory.

Yeah, $700 for the PS4 would bury Sony in the dirt. Considering the brick known as the PS Vita isn't exactly doing them any favours LOL I actually want a PSVita, but yeah, it's doing kind of meh for them right now. I think interest is sorta declining for the portables, the 3DS had a pretty rough launch too, I don't really keep up on them, so I'm not fully sure, but I think it's doing ok now. I want both portables at some point, maybe when they're really affordable. My focus is more so on keeping an updated PC, and I read that some people were being interviewed around the press conference. And that it will be priced around $350. As unbelievable as that sounds. Ive heard a few people cliam the same theory. That would be insane. And cheaper than a PC of equivalent quality. Streaming is a demanding task, but it's definitely packing the ram for it, and the APU is something like... Six, or eight cores, so it's ready to go. Personally, I don't see the "Premium" model of the system being any cheaper than $500. But I can hope dammit!!! How much will each game cost??? More than likely, the standard $60.

I want a PS Vita too but I want Sony to make me REALLY WANT one like Nintendo does with their portables. I'm not gonna just rush out and pay $249.99 then another $59.99 for a 16GB card. I'm waiting for the inevitable price drop to $200. and a God of War, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, or Soul Calibur would be greatly appreciated!

I see what you did there... >_<
But yeah, only game I can think of that I would play off the top of my head is Uncharted. I love Uncharted, but it isn't worth throwing down like $450 total on a portable for. I really want a PS4, with just current news, but I have a feeling that I'll end up waiting a year or two for kinks to be worked out before I commit to another console purchase.

As far as I know, neither feature will be available at launch.
